Some of us don't have Mothers and Fathers anymore and some of us are not Mothers or Fathers ourselves, but we can all have a friend or be a friend to someone else.
The rain has set in and it is cold and gloomy outside, but I have asked a lovely lady to go out to lunch with me today. She befriended me when I first came here and her smile lights up my life. When I was in a particularly bad "crash" and couldn't even get up out of bed, I texted her and she called in. She sat on the end of my bed, ignored my spasming body and merrily chatted away. Not only that, she sent another friend to pop in on me a couple of hours later.
After our lunch I'm going to meet with a bunch of ladies I've also met here, but right now I'm going to make some phone calls. I want my friends to know I'm thinking of them today.
How about making a couple of calls yourself?
